Sample aangan biodata — a wedding-card style PDF for a young woman

Questions

Why aangan, in plain English.

Why aangan?
Because the Word-doc-on-WhatsApp version is ugly, and the big matrimony sites turn a private family decision into a public marketplace. aangan is a quiet place to build a beautiful biodata with your family, and share it only with the families you actually know.
Who can see my biodata?
Only people you send a link to. There is no public directory, no search, no listings, no algorithmic matching. Every share is revocable from your biodata settings.
Can my family help build it?
Yes — that's the point. Send an Edit link (optionally PIN-protected) to your mother, your aunt, your sister. They sign in with their email and add the details they know. Auto-saves as everyone types. You stay in control: revoke access any time.
What does the biodata actually look like?
Like a wedding card, not a CV. Cream paper, gold borders, a small Sanskrit invocation, your photo, sections in English or हिंदी / தமிழ் / తెలుగు. A one- or two-page PDF you can send on WhatsApp, email or message — or share as a link that opens in a browser.
Is it really free?
Yes, completely. Building, sharing, the PDF — all free, no ads, no upsells. We may add an optional identity-verification add-on later (Aadhaar + degree + employment, around ₹999 one-time, for families who want extra trust), but the core biodata tool stays free forever.
What about privacy?
Photos get their EXIF location data stripped on upload. We don't run analytics SDKs, no cross-site cookies, no ads. You can export everything you've entered, or delete your account permanently, from your account settings at any time.
What's an Introduction?
When two families have privately exchanged biodatas with each other, aangan opens a small shared space — a side-by-side view where each family can mark themselves Interested or step away. Only when both say Interested does contact information reveal. No spam, no engagement loops — just a quiet meeting place.
